The most common cause of loose skin is aging. As we age, the body produces less collagen and elastin in the skin. Elastin fibers help the skin “bounce back” from stretching and making facial expressions and collagen is another protein that forms that skin’s structure. Sun Exposure accelerates the breakdown of collagen and elastin. Weight Loss can also lead to the loss of volume in your skin. This refers to the thinning of the fatty layer beneath your skin and stretching of ligaments. The quicker you lose this volume, the less amount of time you give your skin to recover. Smoking can lead to premature sagging of the skin. The nicotine in cigarettes can narrow the blood vessels in the outermost layers of your skin. Due to this, the blood flow in your skin is disrupted which can lead to less oxygen and nutrients to your skin cells. Without the natural nutrients, your skin cells die (similar to sun exposure), reducing the production of collagen and elastin in your body.

Deep wrinkles, smile lines, hollowed out eyes and loss of fat in the cheeks can all be corrected with the right filler, or combination of fillers and neurotoxins. By using a combination of injectables to plump, fill, and smooth deep lines and wrinkles, you will gain more youthful appearance with immediate results and no downtime Some of the effects of the aging process that produces sagging skin can be reversed with surgery and some non-invasive procedures.

At Wellife Center we use two non-invasive systems to tighten and rejuvenate skin on the body and face. Alma’s Accent Prime uses ultrasound and radio frequency to tighten loose skin under eyes and under the chin as well as abdomen, hips, thighs, buttocks, arms, calves, and flanks while it is simultaneously reducing excess fat.

Secret RF use radio frequency and micro injuries to the skin to tighten and lift skin on face, arms, and abdomen. The micro-needling procedure uses a specialized device equipped with gold plated tiny needles to make controlled micro-injuries to the skin. This process prompts the body’s natural healing responses to kick in, improving collagen formation and resulting in smoother, healthier, more youthful-looking skin. Collagen is the foundation of our skin’s support and firmness, and as we age, our normal production of this important substance slows down. Micro-needling can be paired with PRP for even more dramatic rejuvenated results.
